Your domain name is important for your online presence.

  • Choose what best represents your business as the domain it can be your business name or your speciality, something that people will easily remember.
  • Decide on a domain name extension. The extension is the part at the end of the domain name – .com, .org, .net, for example.
  • Type the domain you want into the box at the top of this page. We’ll tell you if that domain is available and show others you may like better.
  • Pick one, add it to your cart and check out. You are now the proud owner of your very own domain. If it’s registered to you, no one else may use it.
  • Easy to remember. You can choose a domain with your business name in it. A name that people can easily recall and associate with you.
  • Don’t register one that’s trademarked, copyrighted or being used by another company. This can lead to losing the domain and/or legal problems.
  • Shorter is better because they can be easily memorised by customers. It’s also easier to get matching usernames for Facebook, Twitter and any other social media accounts you have.
  • Have a local business? Include your neighbourhood, city or country in your domain so customers can quickly locate you. Check the list of geographic domain extensions – .in, .uk., .nyc – to see if there’s one for your area.
  • Avoid numbers or hyphens. Avoid them as they look unprofessional and confusing. Anyone who hears your web address won't know if you're using a numeral (1) or “one.” If your business name has a number in it, register both versions – with the numeral and with the number spelt out.

You can choose from 200+ TLDs including the most common options:

  • .net
  • .org
  • .biz
  • .info

Once you register a domain, you own it and can keep it as long as you'd like.

Add a professional touch to your business with a custom email Id. Create your custom email address easily in cpanel under email. Brand yourself or your business with a custom email address like Access your email using webmail or any popular email client like Outlook or Mac Mail.

When you register a domain name, you are asked to provide up-to-date contact information. This is part of a policy established by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the organisation that coordinates the world’s domain system. Your information is then stored in a publicly accessible WHOIS database, which can be easily searched and accessed by anyone with an Internet connection. That means anyone can find your personal information, including spammers, marketers, and identity thieves. The domain I want isn't available If the domain isn't available, there are a few reasons why this might happen. The domain you entered could already be taken, it could be a premium domain, or it might contain too many characters.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Choose the Domains option from the menu. Select all the domains you would like to renew.
  3. Select the Renewal Options tab.
  4. Select Renew Now and click Submit. This will take you to confirm your choices and process your payment. Domain renewal rates will be available through your control panel.

There are several steps after your domain expires to safeguard you from losing any domains you want to keep.

  1. Approximately 30 days before the domain expiration date, we begin sending reminders to you by email to the email address you listed with us. You will receive at least two reminders before the expiration date and one reminder within five days after expiration.
  2. If we are unable to secure payment on or before the domain renewal date, your domain name will expire.
  3. As early as one day after expiration, your domain name will be deactivated and replaced with a parking page indicating the domain name has expired, and other services you have associated with the domain name may no longer function.
  4. As early as 30 days after expiration, your domain name may be purchased by a third party. If a third party purchases the domain name during this time, the domain name will not be available for you to renew.
  5. If the domain name has not been renewed by you or purchased by a third party, an expired domain name enters the registry redemption period (as defined by each registry) approximately 45 days following expiration. If a third party purchases the domain name before the registry redemption period, the domain name will not enter redemption and will not be available for you to renew. We reserve the right to charge you a redemption fee (in additional to the renewal fee) in the event you are able to renew your domain name during this period.
  6. If the domain name completes the registry redemption period, the registry may hold the domain name for five days before releasing it again for general registration.

The redemption period may last 30 days after the initial renewal grace period. You may still be able to redeem the domain during this time. The fee for reactivating a domain in the Redemption Period + the normal renewal fee. Your domain can be redeemed by choosing to renew it from within the Domains section of the Control Panel. At the end of the Redemption Period, the domain(s) will go into a 5-day delete cycle at the end of which they will become available for anyone to register.

As a security precaution, all new registrations are set to auto-renew unless otherwise specified by the customer. This prevents domain names from accidentally expiring and you from losing control of your website. We begin attempting to auto-renew domains 15 days before expiration. The auto-renew is billed to the credit card associated with your account. If you want your domain name to auto-renew, but the auto-renew is turned off:

  1. login to your Up One Control Panel,
  2. Select Domains from the menu.
  3. Select the domain(s) you want to modify.
  4. Select Renewal Options, Auto-Renew, then click Save Changes.

If you want the domain name to auto-renew, but the credit card information is no longer valid:

  1. Login to your Up One Control Panel.
  2. Select Account from the menu.
  3. Then update your billing information from the Profile tab.

Most likely your auto-renewal failed because the credit card information is no longer valid. To resolve this problem, you will need to update your credit card information. You may need to manually renew your domain if it is less than 15-days before expiration. If your domain has already expired, you will need to renew your domain manually.

Having an engaging platform and a resourceful provider is very important that is why more and more people are choosing to transfer domains to Up One Hosting. Up One Hosting provides increased security, powerful tools, usability and reasonable price. All our customers, regardless of which hosting package they choose, gain access to the Up One Hosting Control panel with its intuitive Click and Build function. In fact, a domain name transfer to Up One hosting takes just a few clicks, and you can even manage multiple domains using a single interface.

Domains can be transferred almost any time. However, ICANN prohibits domain transfer within 60 days of registration or prior transfer (.au excepted).

  1. Make sure the email address listed for the administrative (admin) contact on each domain is up-to-date. Both Up One Hosting and your current registrar will use this address to communicate with you during the transfer process. To verify your administrative email address, look up each domain in the WhoIs database However, if any of your domains are privately registered, a service that hides your personal information from public view, you won’t be able to check your admin email address in the WhoIs. You’ll need to contact your current registrar to cancel the private registration and then change the email address if needed. For .au domains, the admin contact is called the registrant contact.
  2. Next, unlock each of the domain names you’d like to transfer. Contact your current registrar for details on how to do this.
  3. You may need an authorization code (sometimes called a transfer key or EPP code) from your current registrar. This isn’t necessary in all cases, such as when transferring Country-code Top-level Domain Names (ccTLDs). If the authorization codes aren’t shown in your account manager, ask your current registrar to email them to you.
  4. Buy Up One Hosting domain transfers for up to 500 of your domain names at once, listing each one on a separate line in our bulk domain transfer tool. If the extension you’d like to transfer isn’t listed, you can’t transfer that domain name to us.

Under Select Your Transfer Nameservers, choose one of these options:

    1. Keep my current nameservers. If your transfer domain name is associated with an active website, choose this option to make sure there’s no interruption in site performance during the transfer.
    2. Switch to Up One Hosting park nameservers. If you have an email with us for the domain name, are using our Off-site DNS, or created a Premium DNS transfer template before the transfer, select this option.

NOTE: If you select this option and are not using Off-site DNS or a Premium DNS transfer template, we park the domain name on our parking nameservers and create a default zone file in your account with us. You can use the Zone File Editor in the DNS Manager to customise the new zone file. Please note there are special instructions for transferring .uk, .ca, .eu, .es, .se and .au domain names to Up One Hosting.

Once you’ve paid for the transfers, we send an email to the person listed as an administrative contact for each domain. Save this email – it has codes you’ll need to authorise the transfer process.

  5. A few final steps:
    1. Log in to My Account on Up One Hosting.
    2. Click the Launch button next to Domains.
    3. Pull down the Domains menu in the upper left and click Pending Transfers.
    4. In the upper right, click the Authorize Transfer button.
    5. Select the Bulk tab, and enter one domain name and its authorization code per line. Separate each domain name from its authorization code with a comma, space, or tab. Click Next.
    6. Choose I authorise the transfer and click Finish.
    7. Select OK.

Your bulk domain transfer is complete!
